Samick Grand Pianos for sale
Hyo Ick Lee was the founder of Samick pianos in 1958 in South Korea. Samick became the first Korean company to export pianos in 1964 and by the early 1970s, the company grew larger in size with over 3000 employees building not only pianos, but guitars as well. A branch was later opened in Los Angeles, California in 1978 followed by an office in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1980. Samick Music Corporation was then formed in 1982 after the sales of Samick products grew exponentially in America. Hyo Ick Lee did not live to see to Samick's success and passed away after a battle with cancer in 1990. After the bankruptcy of Samick Music Corporation, Jong-Sup Kim, a Korean business mogul, purchased Samick for US$100 million in 2002, outbidding the other leading music companies.
Now, Samick Musical Instruments Co. Ltd. is the oldest and largest piano manufacturer in Korea and it has ranked third in world piano sales. It has grown from a small workshop manufacturing a little more than a hundred pianos annually to more than 30,000 pianos annually created in modern and highly sophisticated manufacturing facilities. Samick also export their creations worldwide.
