Baldwin Grand Pianos for sale
The company Baldwin had humble beginnings and was founded by a music teacher by the name of Dwight Hamilton Baldwin in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1862. The company first started as a retail seller of pianos and organs. D. H. Baldwin right from the very beginning demonstrated a talent for hiring employees of quality, one of whom was a Civil War veteran, Lucien Wulsin.
In 1873, Wulsin accepted partnership in the company and both he and Baldwin established sales outlets in Louisville, Indianapolis, and several other smaller cities. Both of them later began designing and building their own keyboard instruments in 1899 and after 3 years has passed, the Baldwin Piano Company was established. In the following year of their company's establishment, they shipped out the very first piano that was manufactured under their own roof. Through it all, the company has adhered to the highest standards in the production of fine keyboard instruments.
After the death of D. H. Baldwin and his wife in 1899, Wulsin purchased the 80 percent share that was designated to the Presbyterian Church. He subsequently merged all the different Baldwin business to form The Baldwin Corporation. The company very quickly achieved the goal of manufacturing "the best piano that could be built," under Wulsin's leadership. In 1900, a Baldwin concert grand won the coveted Grand Prix Award in Paris, and later took top honors at the World's Fairs in St. Louis in 1904 and in London in 1914. Dedicated Baldwin employees handcraft Baldwin pianos together using only quality woods and materials to create family heirlooms, ballroom centerpieces, works of art and the backbone of many orchestras. From the small town of Trumann, Arkansas to various locations in the world, Baldwin pianos have become the pianos of choice for many.
